Soulard Gyro

This place is awesome. Staff is very friendly and professional. Restaurant is very clean and bright inside. Very large menu with lots to choose from. Food was served quickly after ordering. Food tasted very good and fresh. I will be visiting hear for lunch more often.

We stumbled across Soulard Gyro while staying at a nearby an Air B&B. We and our teens loved it so much that we ate lunch there multiple times during our stay…and we’ve continued to talk about it after returning home.

Doner kebab #1 best bread and presentation. Meat and tsaziki are second to none. Always enjoy a trip here. Closes at 4, but the lunch /early dinner here is great. Get here around 11am and you'll enjoy some space, but usually the line moves real well, great atmosphere right across street from Pontiac Square Park. A lunchtime staple you'll be happy to rediscover

Great Gyros and very quick! Can’t go wrong with any Gyro or Bowl here, I usually get the Classic Gyro and have been coming back here for the past couple years! Hummus or the fries are great sides as well.

I had Döner in Germany and loved it. I tried it here and I think it was even better! Stacked high with lamb from the spit, lettuce and tomato, seasoned just perfectly. The bread however is the best part. It is unlike any bread you can get at the supermarket. Light and tasty but with a little chew too it. Reminds me of the bread I had while in Kosovo. My wife and I try to get there as much as possible. Now they have multiple locations to make it easier.

The restaurant had one person in the dining area when I entered the restaurant. Ordering takes place at the counter. But you order on your own and then are asked to leave a fifteen percent tip or more. After you pay, how do you do with you? You don't have the option for our printed receipt.Only text or email. The water was generic water that could be purchased at any box or grocery store, but the charge was two dollars. The fountain soda machine was out of order. So I couldn't get free water. I sat down and waited for my order. When it was ready, the person brought it out to the counter, looked at me, and then said, it's ready. I just figured since I was the only one in the entire restaurant, it would have been a kindness to bring it over to me. But he made me get up and go get it. Then, he proceeded to wipe down all the tables and told me that I just missed the rush. It was completely full, not thirty minutes before. The other piece that bothered me was that it is an old building, and understandably things happen, but it smelled like sewer gas was coming up from the bathroom. The positive was that I was sitting by the air register because it was over 90° outside, so that felt good. The food was good, but not change my life amazing. If I do go back, I think I might order for pickup. And then just take it back to my office and eat it or go sit in a park if the day is nice.

This is our favorite spot for dinner after a long work day. Food is amazing and service is always on point. Try the greek fries with garlic sauce!
